Coaching and Mentoring With United Through Sport
During four transformative weeks, the volunteers worked closely with United Through Sport’s Football Coaching & Playing Project, engaging daily with talented young athletes in Accra and Kyebi.
Responsibilities included:
- Observing team training sessions
- Providing feedback to players and coaching staff
- Analyzing match footage Supporting athlete development through basic sport psychology techniques
In addition to working with United Through Sport, volunteers collaborated with Rising Stars of Africa, a local partner academy, gaining valuable insight into the pathways available to Ghana’s emerging footballers.
Reflecting on the experience, one volunteer shared:
“The trip took me out of my comfort zone, which is really necessary to grow and have new experiences. I am so incredibly grateful to have had the chance to visit Ghana with the purpose of helping athletes develop.”
