Spring 2026 bought so much fun amongst the upcoming football stars of St Lucia. In partnership with Trevor Daniels, our international volunteers joined the easter camp staff team to deliver exciting, full-filled sessions to the local school children on the island. The team worked hard together to plan and deliver both skill and tactic-based drills, encouraging a positive change and development in play and confidence.

Our Relationship with Trevor Daniels
At United Through Sport, we work closely with Trevor Daniels on a weekly basis, assisting with the delivery and organisation of both school and extracurricular sessions. This relationship plays a vital role in assisting our mission of increasing sport participation on the island and opens up a variety of opportunities for a greater number of children that we work with. Trevor is a dedicated coach who understands both the technical and personal development elements of football. Working alongside this expertise helps our international coaches gain a deeper understanding of the game, in turn creating and delivering higher quality drills that achieve greater success within the group.
Easter Camp for Upcoming Football Stars
Easter Camp consisted of both a morning and afternoon session, with the main focus of both being football. Over 50 children a day, both male and female, joined the field to have fun and learn with their friends over the Easter break. Mornings tended to be filled with skill-based drills, with our volunteers looking to improve:
- Passing
- Dribbling
- Shooting
Alongside this we were also looking to improve:
- Confidence on the ball
- Leadership within a team
Afternoons were then used to apply these skills into match play. These sessions differed between the football pitch and the beach, creating space for children to express themselves in different environments, whilst keeping it engaging and fun for all. Our Coordinator here at United Through Sport who worked closely with Trevor to deliver the sessions believes:
“The Trevor Daniels Easter camp was a great success, both for the children and our coaches. On one hand, it offered a well-balanced program with plenty of extracurricular ideas, such as football on the beach, and on the other hand it provided children from a wide range of financial backgrounds with the opportunity to participate.”
With many of the children commenting on how much of a great time they had had, playing football.
Outcomes
Overall, our voluntary work within this camp has created a safe, structured environment for over 50 children a day for two weeks, creating a space for them to grow individually and as part of a team. Through the activities lead by our international coaches, these children have had the opportunity to develop key physical skills, whilst also being able to build confidence and resilience. Camps like this are vital to us as an organisation, as they help to promote inclusion and equal opportunity amongst all children here in St Lucia, no matter their background.
What’s next?
As we look forward to the future, our aim at United Through Sport is to commit to helping the participation of females in football on the Island. Our next mission is in support of Common Goals World Football Giving Day. We are hosting a female football match for all to be a part of on 26th May. If you would like to support football for good initiatives on the island please consider donating here.
